This level takes the learner through a review of cardiac anatomy and physiology with an emphasis on the electrical conduction system of the heart.  Titles include:

  • Functional Anatomy and Physiology (1 hr)

  • Cardiac Assessment (1 hr)

  • Rhythm Strip Analysis and Normal Sinus Rhythm (1 hr)

  • Cardiac Monitoring Set-Up and Tips for Success (1 hr)

  • Sinus Node and Atrial Dysrhythmias (1 hr)

  • AV Blocks and Bundle Branch Blocks (2 hr)

Intermediate Level

The learner moves on to more advanced concepts in this level with assessment of specific acute dysrhythmias.  Titles include:

  • Ventricular Dysrhythmias (2 hr)

  • Acute Coronary Syndromes, Coronary Circulation, and ECG Clues (2 hr)

  • Electrophysiology and Cardiac Medications (2 hr)

  • Pacemakers and ICDs (2 hr)

  • Code Management and BLS/ACLS Guidelines (2 hr)

  • 12-Lead Placement (2 hr)

Advanced Level

The topics in this level range from 12-lead ECG, axis determination, ST segment and T wave changes.  Titles include:

  • 12-Lead ECG Interpretation (1.5 hr)

  • Axis Determination/Hypertrophy/Enlargement (2 hr)

  • Bundle Branch Blocks and Hemiblocks (1.5 hr)

  • Acute Coronary Syndromes and Myocardial Infarction Localization (2 hr)
